how it works

  • Flesh out your project. This includes everything you would do for any pitch at a studio, production company, or to a financier. Things like: a treatment, animatic, pitch video, character sketches, storyboards, etc. The better you can present your idea, the better the community will do at reviewing it for selection. We are looking for the most deserving filmmakers. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

  • Sign up for an account. Submit your idea to an eligible financing award or opportunity. Use all the material you created when developing your idea. Be bold and the community will respect the hard work. People want to know you are deserving of the support.

  • Once the community has cast their votes. The foundation will review and engage in conversations for a financing agreement. Being prepared is important. Make sure you own the intellectual property you are pitching, registering it with a copyright office is important to financiers. They want to know their investments are safe. So we recommend ALL submissions are registered prior to submitting at DCP.

  • DCP is a non-profit blockchain organization that uses democratic decision-making to offer film financing awards to our user community.  Filmmakers from all walks of life can apply for and submit film proposals to vie to win “Awards” offered on the DCP platform. These include financing opportunities and support from DCP’s network and resources.

  • Once submitted, our user community reviews and rates each proposal, providing network intelligence that determine the most deserving to receive these opportunities.  Finalists and winners of awards are matched with DCP’s robust network of industry partners to assist these aspiring filmmakers in realizing their films and launching their careers.

  • Our platform rewards both film submitters and community participants: filmmakers with funding awards, and participating community members with FILMCredits, our platform’s currency, which can be used to power future submissions or “staked” to support the t4l3nt network, film submission reviews, and or donated film projects.

  • The broader point: stay involved!  There are many ways to be rewarded within the DCP community.
